Supraland is a First-Person Metroidvania Puzzle game. The main sources of inspiration are Zelda, Metroid and Portal.

Supraland assumes that you are intelligent and lets you play independently. The story is minimal, gives you an overarching goal to pursue, and then sets you free.
Playtime:  ~15-30h


- Metroidvania -

You explore a large interconnected world in which most ways are at first unpassable until you find new abilities to overcome those obstacles. A cornerstone of Supraland's design was to create abilities that are so versatile, they will keep on surprising you by how many different usages they have. If you combine your abilities, the possibilities become even bigger.

- Exploration -

Most of the game is about exploring the sandbox world to track down secrets. Often you will think you are about to get out of bounds and beat the level designer, but right there is a chest waiting for you with a very rewarding upgrade.

- Puzzle Design -

The deeper you get into the game the more you will be facing creative puzzles you've never seen anywhere before, encouraging you to stop and think about what abilities you have and how you can use them in yet another way. Puzzle types that I already knew from other games were immediately rejected in the design process. And it's important to me that once you understand the idea behind a puzzle, you can pretty much immediately solve it instead of having to go through a cumbersome, frustrating execution.

- Fighting -

The fighting mechanics are inspired by old-school, fast-paced shooter games like Unreal, Doom and Quake, encouraging high-speed strafing and jumping while throwing shot after shot at hordes of charging enemies without ever having to worry about weapons reloading.

Having an issue, the game launches fine but then cannot select anything from the title screen, not play options or exit. I can see a mouse cursor on the screen but it won't interact with the menu. I also tried turning on my controller and still nothing. Downloaded the demo from steam and same problem.

Couldn't find anything via Google, anyone have some insight?

EDIT:

Disregard, read the FAQ on steam, hitting F11 and switching to windowed mode will allow you to start a game and then you can switch back.

Motivierendes Konzept, das nun mehr abliefern muss.

Pro:
- Konzept ist sehr Vielversprechend und spielt sich bereits sehr gut
- Gameplay-Mix und Anspielung auf verschiedene Klassiker sind gelungen
- Zugänglichkeit und Stil laden zum entspannten Feierabend-Zocken ein

Contra:
- Preis aktuell mehr Entwickler-Unterstützung. Für ca. 1h Gameplay sonst eher ungerechtfertigt
- Welt hat Charme, braucht jedoch mehr um zum Erkunden zu Motivieren
- Treffer-Feedback und Gefühl für die Reichweite von Waffen und Force-Cube noch zu schwach

Pro:
- Concept is promising and gameplay is solid already
- Gameplay-mix and hints to different classics are good
- accessible and style make it a good game for relaxing after work

Con:
- pricing is more a dev-support. 1h of gameplay isn't really worth the asking price, else
- world is charming, but needs "more" to motivate for more exploring
- weapon feedback and reach for weapons and Force-Cube are not feeling great

I fell back down into the water pipe and I don't know how to get out again. The regular path has been boarded up, and dying just makes me respawn in the tunnel again. 

AAAh I was gonna letsplay this but I wanted to test to see if it worked and OMFG where did the time go! Hahaha!

I do have one question.
How da heck do you destroy the wooden graves. I've been wailing on them with my sword and shooting the heck out of them with my blaster, but nothing seems to work.

Oh! And my game seemed to drop the FPS during the Tower section with the massive crystal, and it didn't seem like dropping the graphics setting did much. I was still getting sub 30FPS is some places during this part, despite the fact that the game was on it's lowest setting.

Also, Just a few more things I'd like to say, and they're about the health system.

I find it easier to manage my health if I can see it with a short glance, so perhaps give the HUD a health bar, or give the player the ability to earn/find one, kinda like in Kingdom Hearts. The numbers don't need to go though, they're still very helpful.

Another thing is that I don't look at my health enough, and I think I died twice because because of this, and even though you have visual queues to help players know when they're about to die, I think your players would appreciate it if there was also some kind of audio queue, kinda like in the Pokemon games!

It would be highly appreciated if you included these, and I can't wait for the full version.

Also on the topic of bugs, sometimes when I'm in the sewers under the red town, when I try to jump back up the pipe, I just fall back down, and I'm unable to jump again until I restart the game. help.

Yes, the FPS in the tower section is low - I'll in general try to improve FPS. It's way too bad.

I played this demo for hours lol. i played it so much i found out how to get behind the wall ;)

But THE WALL was supposed to not let anyone through and solve all problems!

I got this while trying to install the game "While searching for a download: Cannot read property 'toLowerCase' of undefined"

Uhm, I have no idea what that could mean. When exactly does it come up? Because the game has no installation, as it's just zipped files.

Maybe download again, maybe it got corrupted?

Don't install over the Itch app. It does not seem to be working. Just download the game from the website.

I was really shocked by how much work was put into this demo! I give praise to you DavidM1337! You made a great puzzle game with lots of mystery, undead, and parkour! - BTW! This was made on the 2/19/2018, so there could be something I said that was fixed or added.

Yeah! I was using a new setup! The only reason I stopped was because I only had a small amount of time do to a video that day! I will come back to that game! You haven't seen the last of me! Heh.

It's been mentioned a couple times but, a resolution option would be appreciated for players of your game! Also not sure but, I got stuck on the blocks part. It seems even not picking them up they don't stay in place and, roll. Not sure if this is suppose to happen or glitch.

You're crouching. Stand up and try again. You can jump on the blocks.

I totally didn't think about the crouching mechanic!

It was also buggy - next update it will uncrouch you when you jump. Resolution option will also be there next update.

Any chance there's going to be quality/resolution options soon? Seems to auto adjust to monitor size and doesn't run all that well on 4k.

The full version will of course have all of that if it gets funded

What a fantastic game. I spent over an hour playing supraland and enjoyed every minute of it.

The graphics are great, the gameplay is great and the game has a really good puzzle element and while there are no instructions, you have to use a little bit of the old grey matter to help you through.

Thanks a lot. I'm gonna watch your playthrough now and try to learn from that what you misunderstand or so and then improve the game based on that. Be sure to get the new update as well that we just released. A lot was fixed and improved.

So I watched up to 5 now. Problem is that you bought the Force Cube but never used it. You didn't even know you had it. So I'll need to fix that so you can't miss it.

And the way you pressed that button with a triple jump was a bug, you just skipped half the map with that. That is fixed in the current update already.
